5 Branding Must-Haves for Your Business
As competition is forever fierce, having an effective and consistent brand strategy goes a long way to winning new clients and keeping you top of mind among your customers and prospects.
What is your brand? Your brand is your identity. It distinguishes you in the marketplace and is the backbone of everything you do in marketing.
From your logo, website and company values, to your brochures and the customer experience, branding is your company’s most important asset.
So, it makes sense to give your brand the attention it requires.
Here are some brand strategy must haves:
- A responsive website. Is your site a slow, plodding dinosaur that looks wonky on a mobile phone? You might be losing up to 50% of your visitor traffic. It is well past time to upgrade to a site that looks good on a laptop, mobile or tablet.
- A presence on LinkedIn/Facebook.If your business is B2C (business-to-consumer), Facebook/Instagram is a must. Likewise, LinkedIn is required reading for B2B (business-to-business). Think of LinkedIn as the ‘Facebook for businesses.’
- A clean logo. Having a logo that is used consistently throughout your company’s digital and traditional presence is important. The use of varied versions of your logo causes brand confusion, which decreases engagement.
- A company e-newsletter.An e-newsletter is part of a solid ‘push strategy’ that reaches out to prospects and clients alike. It reinforces your brand, keeps your name top of mind, and positions your company as an industry expert.
- Key messages. What are you known for? What makes your company unique? Consistently spelling out these key messages in your collateral, website, and conversations drives these messages home.
Another note in branding is that COVID has pushed digital tactics forward. For a period during the pandemic, digital tactics were the only marketing tools available, and they proved to be effective (think Zoom, webinars, social media posts, digital advertising). No longer can a company say that they don’t need to have a social media presence. Digital is here to stay.
