Grow Your Business with Community Marketing
My interview this week explained Community Marketing, and how you can grow your business right in your own zip code. By being mindful and supporting of your own community, this can affect how customers buy – in favor of your business over another’s – even those much larger than yours. My guest Sandy Student of Tech CXO and president of Evesham School Board, offered these suggestions for incorporating your own Community Marketing Campaign:
Tips for Community Marketing:
- You have an advantage over large corporations in this area – as a resident of your own community, no one knows what needs improvement better than you. Choose something that you feel strongly about – such as fixing a playground, running a toy or food drive, etc. By helping your community, you become a hero in your own zip code. Your neighbors will appreciate your efforts, and the reciprocity will flow towards your business.
- Get your employees involved. Solicit your staff’s input when finding a worthy cause. Not only will you be doing good, but you will draw your staff together too.
- Identify a Need. Not sure how you can help? Call your local municipality. There are always projects that are on hold due to lack of funds. Find one that you can support and feel good about.
- You don’t have to start from scratch. There are plenty of worthy, established causes that need local drop-off locations, such as Toys for Tots or Coats for Kids.
Here are some worthy causes that could use local help. It’s not too late to get started this season:
1. Food Bank of South Jersey: www.foodbanksj.org
2. Toys for Tots:www.toysfortots.org
3. Shoebox Recycling: www.shoeboxrecycling.com
4. Coats for Kids: www.coats-for-kids.org
5. Ronald McDonald House: www.ronaldhouse-snj.org
