5 Ways to Show Customer Appreciation
Showing your customers you appreciate their business is always a worthwhile thing to do. Acting on that appreciation fosters loyalty and builds lasting connections.
By recognizing and thanking your customers for their patronage, you create a lasting impression. It’s also simply the right thing to do.
Here are five ways to express your gratitude during this – or any time of the year:
1.Write a personalized thank-you note. Yes, your mother was right. Writing a positive note shows how much you value their business. Be sure to include something specific about that appreciation, just like Mom (or Grandmom) taught you.
2. Spotlight your clients’ achievements. Did they win an award? Have they exceeded some expectation or went above and beyond in their own business? If so, share that good news on your social media pages, emails or newsletters. It’s always nice to get a pat on the back from your customers. It’s a good idea to return that favor as well.
3. Support their causes. Find a way to get involved with the causes they care about. You can share information about their favorite charities, or the events they choose to champion.
Collaborate together on a mutual cause by helping them plan or market an event, drive or other awareness campaign.
4. Extend an exclusive offer or discount to your most valued clients. Show them you appreciate their business by offering something of value at an exclusive rate/cost.
5. Hold a client appreciation event. You can do this at your location, theirs or a mutual setting like a restaurant. Take your clients to lunch, dinner, or even breakfast. Everyone loves a meal that they don’t have to pay for. Holding a party is a great way to get away from the transactional nature of business. Plus, it gives you a chance to get to know your clients on more personal basis. This goes a long way in understanding their needs and how you can serve them in the future.
No matter how you decide to show your appreciation, it makes sense to put a plan in place – one that takes in the ideas, time, cost and efforts you and your staff will need to make these efforts successful.
