Marketing Tools You Can Use to Connect Today

With over 250 marketing tactics available to us, many business leaders are asking: which tools work best for the remote situation we find ourselves in today? Here’s a short list of the ones you and your company should consider using right now to stay connected with your clients and colleagues.

Think about your behaviors in the last few weeks – many of us are working remotely, which means we are at our desks (as opposed to a lunch meeting, a trade show, on the road, etc). We may have the radio or TV on in the background. Hungry for connections outside of our immediate circle, when our phone rings – we answer it. We’re connecting in the few ways we can – by phone and digitally.

Keep these things in mind when choosing your tactics – use what’s hot right now:

  • Phone/Facetime
  • e-Newsletters
  • Website
  • Texting
  • Social Media (Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, Instagram)
  • TV/Cable

Not sure what to say or do? Here’s a few suggestions:

  • Phone: reach out – let others know you’re thinking about them. A phone call to stay connected could be the best gift you can offer right now.
  • e-Newsletter: If you have information to share with your clients or colleagues that relates to COVID-19, an might be a good way to share your message, especially if it’s longer than a few sentences or has links or graphics. We like the email marketing platforms MailChimp and Constant Contact.
  • Website: Add an update on your website that tells clients how you are responding to COVID-19. Typically, your website is the first place people will go to get information. Include resource links, email address/phone number where you can be reached and your response times if they have changed.
  • Social media is a hot way to connect right now – and it’s booming. LinkedIn is the ‘professional’s Facebook’ – brush up your profile and make connections. The connections you make today will help you grow your overall contact list. Facebook is another great way to connect – and if your ideal customer is a woman aged 35-70, this tactic is a must. Create a Company page too and start connecting.
  • What to post? Think about video messages, photos of your product or service, podcasts, or helpful articles. Facebook Live is another way to engage with your customers.
